Alba got in touch with me to photograph her and her girlfriend in Barcelona, and we came up with the idea of exploring the beautiful Gothic Quarter for a romantic couples photoshoot. With its historic streets, charming squares and timeless architecture, it was the perfect setting for capturing their connection.

It was such a pleasure getting to know you both through my camera, and I’m so happy we could create these memories together.
Exploring barcelona through my lens
I also had so much fun experimenting with some new flash equipment I’d recently bought. Photography is always an opportunity to learn, experiment and push creative boundaries, and this shoot gave me the perfect chance to do just that.
In one of the beautiful squares around Plaça Reial, I experimented with flash photography to create images with more depth, contrast and impact. Although flash can feel intimidating because it takes practice to master, I absolutely love working with it. Used creatively, it can transform an image, bringing out textures, adding dimension and creating something a little more striking.
It was wonderful to combine the natural, candid moments I love capturing with a more creative approach to lighting.
