A Beautiful Destination Wedding in Toronto, Canada
Kevin and Lisa’s incredible wedding in Toronto, Canada, was such a joy to photograph. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, especially as it had rained the day before. Even though summer was approaching, the weather was still very changeable, so I was especially happy that the rain stayed away for their outdoor wedding ceremony.
It was so much fun photographing Kevin and Lisa getting ready on the morning of their wedding. There was such a relaxed but excited atmosphere, with so many little moments happening around them. One of my favourite moments was seeing one of the children jumping on the bed while Lisa helped her dad with his suit. It was exactly the kind of spontaneous moment I love capturing as a documentary wedding photographer.
Meanwhile, Kevin and his best men were getting ready in their own way — including a few vodka shots before the ceremony! It was clear from the beginning that it was going to be a fun and memorable day.
One of my favourite moments was when the guests arrived on school buses. It made for such a fun and unexpected scene to photograph, and it was one of those details that made their wedding feel completely unique.
I especially love photographing destination weddings because every wedding gives me the opportunity to experience different cultures, traditions and ways of celebrating. Although there were many similarities to weddings I’ve photographed in the UK, there were also lots of little details that made Kevin and Lisa’s day feel distinctly Canadian.
And then there was the location. The ceremony and celebrations took place on a stunning Canadian golf course, which was an absolute dream to photograph. From the beautiful surroundings to the natural moments between the couple and their guests, there were so many opportunities to create beautiful, authentic photographs throughout the day.
Kevin and Lisa, thank you both for being such an amazing couple and for making my job as a destination wedding photographer so much fun. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your wedding in Toronto, and I wish you both all the very best for the future.
